I came to Madison in 2005 as an undergrad at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and I loved the city so much that I decided to make it my home. As someone who cannot say no to new experiences, Madison offers a wide variety of restaurants, music venues, and outdoor spaces that never get tiring. Whether tasting some treats at one of our local chocolate shops, or dancing salsa on top of the Monona Terrace, Madison is truly a gem of the Midwest. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher dual language (English and Spanish) at Lincoln Elementary here in Madison, Wisconsin helping to run tours with Madison Eats with my spare time. I love to cook and am particularly fond of Mexican cuisine. I have also tried my hand at gardening and canning as a way to really connect myself with the food I am preparing. I look forward to sharing my love of Madison with you on your next tour!
As a Madison native, I knew our food scene was something special, but it took moving away from the city to truly appreciate it. I attended school from kindergarten through college in Madison, and after graduating, decided it was time for me to explore some new places. I was away for just three years before Madison called me back home. I believe a large part of what makes this area so vibrant is the connection between Wisconsin’s strong agricultural community and Madison’s thriving restaurants. I work at Blue Moon Community Farm in Stoughton, WI as my “day job” and love guiding tours for Madison Eats in my spare time. I enjoy seeing our beautiful city by bicycle or running, and am an avid home cook and preserver. I look forward to sharing my passion for local food with you!
My husband and I chose to settle in Madison as a place where we each could find the environment we
want: for him that is access to world class trout streams; for me that is arts, culture & a vibrant food scene. I have been a life long foodie, and I grew up in a family whose main shared activity was visiting the diversity of restaurants on offer in my native Chicago. I adore cooking and entertaining friends, and sharing all kinds of food tips, preparation and stories. Being a Madison Eats food tour guide combines my passion for food, with my love for my adoptive home and all it has to offer to both visitors and residents. This city is full of the most amazing people with big hearts who want to share their passions with others, and who dedicate themselves to improving everything around them. That is especially true of the food community here. I have been an unschooling parent to a 22 year old son who is working to qualify for the 2018 Winter Olympics as a long track speed skater. My son’s passion has become ours as we support him to try to make this dream a reality. I look forward to showing you around Madison on your next visit!
